What is a Ceremonial Viewing?
A Ceremonial Viewing is a time designated to gather and spend precious moments with your loved one before the Water Cremation process begins. Be a Tree Cremation uses natural preparation without embalming to create a sacred, mindful space for you and your community to say goodbye. We understand the profound depth of loss and are deeply honored that you are considering spending this intimate time with your loved one. Our commitment is to ensure your experience is as gentle, compassionate, and comfortable as possible for your family and community.
What is included?
✓ Preparation & Shrouding
Your loved one will be mindfully shrouded with a soft sheet or wool, or you may provide specific clothing that holds special meaning.
✓ One-Hour Viewing for up to 60 People
Guests will have one hour to share their goodbyes, with immediate family offered additional private moments with your loved one before others arrive.
✓ Coffee & Tea Service
To nurture and support guests during this tender time, we will serve coffee from our local partners at Huckleberry Roasters, along with a variety of teas, and both sparkling and still water.
✓ Optional Blessing Ritual
You are welcome to bring framed photos, flowers, or cherished mementos, which we will lovingly display on our altar space. Share a meaningful playlist or request specific music to be played during the viewing. We offer a range of gentle rituals to support your journey, including body blessing or cleansing, and we warmly welcome any personal religious or spiritual practices you wish to incorporate.

Embalming is never required by law. It is safe to be around your loved one and to place your hands on them, as long as you leave any coverings in place. There may be rare circumstances where embalming is recommended or desired. We will always follow your lead in your loved one’s care.
