I was sitting by her side in the MICU at Denver Health (where you will find angels of God in the people that work there), holding her hand, and reading to her the latest crime novel I had picked up from the library a couple days before (a stack of novels from Tattered Cover was always her favorite Christmas gift to me).

It was the morning of May 6th, 2022, at the age of 90, that the kind hearted Jerry died and was reunited with his beloved Peggy, his wife of 59 years. He lived a deeply purposeful life. His loyalty to his family and friends, sense of adventure, justice, peace, nature, education, athleticism, holistic living, humor, gentle spirit, wonder and curiosity defined who he was as a person. He was an avid reader, explorer and lover of the natural world. And, he was just so darn sweet and easily laughed at himself.

Ben left this life for a more peaceful existence on May 9, 2022. He was born in Rockville, Maryland and had lived in Maryland and Arizona until he decided to move to Colorado in October 2021 to be near his sister and best friend, Marley.
